of Tampa-Hillsborough County, Inc.

The Friends of the Library is an organization of residents who share a passionate commitment to a strong library system. The Friends work to expand the network of libraries, strengthen the library collections and support a varied menu of programs for the residents of our community. They also advocate for libraries by sharing information about the value of libraries with the community’s elected officials.

The Friends of the Library of Tampa-Hillsborough County, Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1967. The organization has grown over the last forty years to include the original founding group, known as the Charter Friends, and 12 branch library chapters. Other fundraising projects include the Burgert Brothers Photographic Calendar and the Four Seasons Author Series. They provide funding for programs for Black History Month, Children’s Book Week, Hispanic Heritage Month, and for Children’s Summer Reading.
